While studying her undergraduate degree Cat also pursued hockey and ultimately represented Australia. She has also cycled at a state level and was a member of the paralympic squad leading into Athens as a pilot for a visually impaired athlete. Cat has had her fair share of injuries and can fully appreciate the frustrations associated with time out of sport/activity.

Cat spent three years in the lead up to the Sydney Olympics travelling full time with the Australian Sailing Team and represented Australia as a Physiotherapist at the 2000 Olympics. She is obviously passionate about sport and people who are passionate about being active and maintaining activity.

Cat has provided physiotherapy coverage for sports including rugby union, hockey, gymnastics, martial arts, corporate sports days and has spent a season working in the NSW ski fields as a physiotherapist. She has also attended World University Games as a physiotherapist and was nominated in the Australian University hockey team three consecutive years whilst studying.

Cat in more recent years had been retained as the Team Physiotherapist for the Young Matildas (womens Football) including management of the teams injuries whilst in Australia as well as on Tour including a month tour in Italy.

Cat is passionate about applying the latest research and evidence to ensure all her patients receive the best care available.

Nicole (Nikki) Hilton

Nikki is a talented Physiotherapist who is dedicated to providing patient care for total well-being. Nikki completed her Physiotherapy degree at Charles Sturt University in Albury, before relocating to the Illawarra region. She gained diverse experience working in the public health system with the Illawarra Area Health Service before joining the Phyxit team.

Nikki has a keen interest in sports, particularly Australian Rules Football and Netball. Nikki also practices Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling techniques where appropriate.

Nikki is also passionate about spinal care and treatment of backs and necks. Including postural assessment and self-management techniques including core strength and stability. She aims to gain long-term results and give patients the most up to date and evidence based care.

Nikki has also had experience in respiratory conditions, sinusitis, headache management, post trauma and pre and post surgical treatment.

She is passionate about applying the latest research findings to her practice to ensure optimum outcomes for her patients.

Anna Suthers

Anna is excited to join the Team at Phyxit in the sunny Illawarra after working in the French and Swiss Alps for the last few years. She is an Australian trained Physio – graduating from Charles Sturt Uni in 2005 and specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Anna is an enthusiastic sports woman and takes great interest in sports-specific re-training to ensure her clients get the most out of their rehabilitation. Anna places high value on manual therapy combined with bespoke exercise training to optimise every client’s potential. She uses Western Dry Needling in combination with more traditional Physiotherapy techniques, and utilises her pilates training to tailor-make exercise programs.

Anna started her physio career in the Royal Darwin Hospital – gaining experience in orthopaedic/surgical/respiratory/trauma and neurological conditions across a diverse population. She developed her interest in acute sports injuries in the primary Emergency Department for the Northern Australian/South East Asian trauma Centre. From there Anna travelled to the UK and Europe where she worked in a variety of musculoskeletal clinics and occupational health and safety work settings. She has experience in headache and vestibular management as well as all muscle/ligament and spinal complaints.

Always a keen skier, Anna started her own mobile physiotherapy clinic in 2008 in the birthplace of extreme skiing – Chamonix at the base of the Mont Blanc in France. Over the next 4 winter season’s Anna worked with her business partner to expand their clinic into Switzerland – treating everyone from beginners to professional athletes. She is passionate about treating the cause of dysfunction as well as the symptoms to empower her clients to treat themselves as much as possible.

Anna is committed to keeping up to date with the latest research and clinical progressions to ensure her clients get highest standard of care.

Gaye Tarrant

Gaye Tarrant

After working in the steel industry for many years and now having a young family Gaye was looking for more flexible working conditions so has taken up the challenge of working at Phyxit physio.

Gaye has a long sporting history, having played Hockey at both State and Australian level for many years. She played for Australia at a junior world cup for outdoor winning a Silver medal and then Captaining Australia’s open team at the first two indoor hockey World cups, before retiring to have her family.

She still plays hockey and is heavily involved in coaching, currently head Coach of the girls hockey squad in the Illawarra Academy of Sport.

Gaye in an invaluable member of our team and brings a wealth of skills with her to Phyxit Physio.

Amanda Hayward

Amanda Hayward

Office Administrator and Physiotherapist Assistant

Amanda is a crucial part of the support team at Phyxit Physio. Amanda is an Exercise Scientist, completed her degree at the University of Wollongong in 2011. Amanda has been personal training since 2009 and  a group exercise instructor trained in Freestyle Aerobics, Step and Les Mills Body Jam and Body Pump. Amanda also has experience coaching competitive cheerleading and teaching dance.

Amanda loves to sing and dance and is currently practicing ballet. Amanda has previously been involved in competitive cheerleading, ballroom, tap, hip hop and other dance styles. Amanda also enjoys clay target shooting on the odd occasion – following the family sport.

Amanda is passionate about rehabilitation and injury prevention. Amanda hopes to assist clients of Phyxit Physio in reaching their goals and improving their quality of life.
